I got two fully remote offers from below startup companies. Brivity 155k- Senior software engineer, 401k 3% match for 6% contribution, no annual bonus but performance based bonus and fully paid insurance. Glassdoor rating 4.9 Spreetail 140k - Software engineer III, no 401K, upto 5% annual bonus, Glassdoor rating 3.4 Brivity founded in 2012 and has 128 employees on LinkedIn, valuation is 1B$ and funded by Goldman Sachs, also planning IPO in couple of years. Stock options will be given 6 months after joining but currently not sure how many stock options I'll get. Spreetail founded in 2006 and has more than 1000 employees on LinkedIn. Current valuation is unknown and planning IPO in 2 years. No stock options will be given but offers 5% Unit Appreciation Rights(I have no clue what it means and how it works) From the interview perspective I felt Brivity sounded more positive, very flexible and they even allow employees to work from anywhere in the world. Technically wise both will be equally challenging. TC:80k YOE: 1yr in USA and 2 yrs in India Location: ATX
Avoid Spreetail. I’m happy to see they’re paying closer to market rates now. If the equity is the same, it amounts to nothing unless you work with them through retirement. It was also heavily dependent on the company and individual hitting yearly goals.
When you say work till retirement what do you mean?
