Look at the chart again and tell me again who you should be really thanking, what’s better rate of improvement 10% -> 5% or 5% -> 3.7%?
The lower it gets the harder it is to improve, isn’t that obvious? Otherwise unemployment rate would go straight to negative.
I was pointing out the bias of giving credit for improved economy to one president and not the other.
Doesn't the chart show that the trend was started in 2010 and has continued for 8 years (IE DJT inherited a strong economy?). In 2017 the chart appears to level off slightly actually too, so it was steeper before DJT. This chart seems to validate the claim that Trump is just piggybacking.
BHO asked if candidate Trump had a magic wand...that what said he could do was not possible. He and his administration also said that growth in the 1.x to 2% range was the new normal. Unemployment is the lowest since 1969 - lowest ever for Latinos and Blacks. BHO inherited a meltdown, so gets a pass for the first couple of years. But because those numbers spiked so high in 2008/9, the percentage decreases are more dramatic. He had the worst modern day recovery and never had 1 of his 8 years reach 3% GDP growth.
Did you do any research about why it went up to 3%? China is stockpiling soy products because of the worries about a trade war. So, it's a temporary thing brought on by bad policy :). Obama had quarters where it grew at 4% as well. It's the sustained growth he was talking about.
I know! It’s amazing how a president could magically make the entire US economy shine in two years’ time with nothing but shady, failing businesses in his past. Makes TOTAL sense. Scary thought if OP is an engineer. I thought you guys were supposed to be smart and know the difference between correlation and causation?
Buearocrats like BHO are stunned too...amazing what removing ridiculous regulations and changing the tax laws to make America competitive, along with other things I don't have time to elaborate on now have done in short order. BHO was a failure and if you want to return to those days, Vote for the Democats / Socialists.
Nope, they aren't stunned. Going above 4% or even 5% for a quarter is normal and has happened multiple times under Obama :).
Steve Liesman of CNBC broke down the sectors which have seen the most and least job gains under the Trump administration, with comparison to that of Obama’s. In President Trump’s first 20 months in office, the U.S. has seen 3.8 million jobs added, a 482,000 difference to Obama’s 4.3 million jobs added in the same time frame. 🤔
Obama's was during the USs second worse recession in history.
Look at the budget deficit, that's where it's coming from. Whether this is ok depends on whether you think the US can borrow more and more indefinitely, which comes down to two things despite already holding unheard of debt amounts: 1) The public not scaring and starting to hoard savings for a several month period. This one is like juggling nitrolycerine - it'll blow up eventually and predicting when is well beyond the scope of a Blind post. Once it happens though, revenue dries up for smaller businesses and defaults on real estate loans rise. Sprinkle in some "keep dancing so long as the music is playing" financial engineering (as always) and you see it ripple through... Well, everything. 2) How much you believe in our reserve currency status continuing to hold (reserve currency means that the rest of the world depends on the dollar as a value anchor and is what keeps off inflation). This one is all about growth as well, but has a financial trigger much easier to see: needing to cover growing interest payments on our debt. Nothing gets everyone to leave your bank like declaring bankruptcy, and every dollar added that doesn't net increase federal income quickly enough moves the country closer to that point
MAGA 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Lololo. Yeeeeehawww.
What has djt done to help the economy besides giving welfare to large companies and rich people in the form of tax breaks? Nothing. He just trolls and tweets.
Welfare? I don’t think you know what that word means.
Government handouts, call it what it is.
I defend Trump a lot because he tends to be falsely accused of so much bullshit in the media but I have to point out that this graph does show hypocrisy on the right as well. Yes. Give credit to trump for not reversing the trend that was already happening over the last 8 years. But let’s also recognize that Obama didn’t do a terrible job either.
I needed a good laugh
Don’t get me wrong. Obama was horrible and I am very happy with the job trump is doing.
Orange man bad so this is fake news 😤
Childish insults don't change facts
The fact that this trend is a continuation from the Obama administration.
