Walmart Global Tech Reneged SDE 3 Verbal Offer

Completed a four round interview as part of a job fair a few weeks back. Received “impressive” feedback and the recruiter promised an offer within the next week. I finally followed up after ~2 weeks, to which the recruiter responded with the following email. Does it sound like something legitimate, or just an excuse not to hire? Firstly its called rescinded if you have signed one. You just had a verbal/email PROMISE which means nothing.

Not surprised by lack of ethics in this post coming from Meta. 😂 Saying something and being diligent about following up on what you said should be something anyone can agree with.

If you already made up your mind, why do you even post a poll to ask if its legitimate or excuse ? No wonder they rejected you!

Technically you didn’t have an offer

@porsche - do you get an employee discount? How much?

Porsche nzPw52 OP Apr 1

Not enough to make it worth working for them.

Oh no, I get that. But what about for a friend? Hint: I’m the friend. ❤️

Which office was this for?

Can’t say without giving up too much info, unfortunately.

Does it rhyme with Preston?

I did last interview for a Product Mgmt role a month ago. Recruiter keeps saying they haven't made a decision yet. Feels like they're rebalancing needs after their perf. Management /Q1 cycles?

Porsche nzPw52 OP Apr 2

Yeah, feels a bit like they don’t know what they want, but are still interviewing into oblivion.

Sorry to hear that OP. It’s true what you are thinking. I recently got an offer from WM. It took so long to hear back after the verbal offer. Turns out they were re-negotiating on company level for all new hires due to whatever internal reason.
