Recently got a job offer from ThoughtSpot for Memeber of technical staff role for a new project. 38LPA, Bangalore office. Probably will be working with the Mode analytics team. Mode was recently acquired by ThoughtSpot. And probably some integration is happening between the platforms. I'm a bit concerned about the org structure, politics, WLB and layoffs. @mode CEO is now ThoughtSpot's CTO (according to ThoughtSpot's website), and similarly titles are being distributed. It's horrible, to say the least. Always firefighting and no direction at all. There are too many issues in every team to solve. Hence, no real development happens quickly, and on top of that - morale is low as well. No work life balance as well. Leadership seems clueless. Only one VP is good and rest all are not even close to EM in other companies. Join only if you have no option.
Why is morale low ? Also how is the mode analytics team ?
Mode Aquisition was done to speed up the ARR to reach IPO goal , but it’s not going well . Lot of people from Mode left or were let go. Customer churn is high as well. Morale is low due to no hike in last 18 months , too many bugs for each and every team. Poor leadership who does not have any sense how to motivate people . Stock price has gone down by more than 50%. Secondary market is also challenging now. On top of it - layoffs as well !! People are just waiting for job market to open up and leave . Join only if you don’t have any other option
