Hello Blinders, One of my friend scheduled virtual final rounds of interviews with msft. The job tittle is “Software Engineer” while the description and roles and responsibilities are aligned to BI/Data Engineer. Not sure if they ask any programming questions for this role. He is good with sql and data technologies but not with DS and Algos. Any help regarding interview prep is highly appreciated. #microsoft #interview #data #softwareengineer
'Software Engineer' implies being able to code, so, yes. I can't think of a Data 'Engineer' who is not good with DS either.
But what complexity we can expect ? Is there any interview round specific for Sql? Also in Amazon I know they will not go above and beyond string, array , dictionaries but I am not aware of this process in Microsoft. It would be helpful if you shed some light on that.
It depends on the level and the team, but I'd expect your friend to be able to do the basics like LL, Binary Tree, Trie along with explaining complexity and improving the algorithm. Strings and arrays are primary school stuff.
How did the interview go for your friend? What types of questions did they end up asking?
How was your interview..please share your experience
