Hi All, I got an offer from synopsy and I accepted the offer. But recently, I got another offer from NVDIA. Is it okay to decline the offer from synopsy now and accept the offer from NVDIA? I am on H1-B visa so I don’t want to get into any trouble in the future. What you think. #hardware #interview #semiconductor #hardware #interview #semiconductor
I’m not H1B...but you don’t owe anybody anything. Either company could cut you without a second thought if they wanted. Do what’s best for you, and don’t pay it another thought.
It’s hard to get cut at Nvidia
This ! So true . Companies don't care about people in general. Just look at how many companies took back offer from graduating students when pandemic started
Go to nVidia
Do what's best for YOUR career. In the grand scheme of things for an organization it will be at most a minor hiccup, they will get someone else to fill that role. But as an individual for you it is a huge opportunity cost if you are NOT doing what's best for you. We incorrectly apply the "I don't want to screw someone" morality that we use for individuals to organizations. But organizations are different and your guilt for refusing an offer should be smaller. From immigration standpoint, it doesn't matter. You can even have the H1b processed from the new company and then decline. The company might be pissed but you won't get into trouble with USCIS.
Thanks
If you’re at nvda you won’t care about synopsys blacklist since you’ll be looking at faang next
