I agree with Uber above. Uber has a bigger upside and you will be severely underpaid at Microsoft.
With the current economic situation I think Microsoft would be better.

Uber stock vests monthly so it feels more "liquid" and you can sell as soon as it vests if worried about the stock value. You should determine what type of role you want to do more (SRE vs SWE) though and let that drive the decision.

I preferred Microsoft due to current economic conditions, Uber stocks were very risky. It could have resulted in lower pay. Stock is down 30% already from my offer date. Still not sure if it reached bottom.

I have been with MSFT for many years and my L63 compensation is way below what they offered to you. I would be happy to get my compensation to what they offered to you. Uber offer would be a dream. I hate why they give so low to existing employees and offer way more to new less experienced engineers.

Yeah. TC is definitely better in Uber. Not sure if WLB and job security are worth the tc difference.
