YOE: 2 Would need to move to Dubai from Canada but it would be tax-free income. Would be working in a closing role within the ERP industry at Odoo or top of the funnel role within the social media management industry at Brandwatch. Aside from the pay, Odoo is fully in-person & Brandwatch is fully remote. What would you choose and in one sentence, why?
Habibi, Dubai won’t tax you to death. Just don’t do stupid shit, disrespect their prophet, or be gay: they will axe you to death.
How is the CRM world?
Dubai any day. Canada is beyond stupid compared to luxury of Dubai
Dubai is shit town be careful, no sewers and very hot also arabs are clowns
Racist
If you have prior experience and can do well in a full fledged closer role (AE), the Odoo role will propel your career and earnings potential faster then working as an SDR. Have you worked in AE role before? I dont know anyone who is currently an AE who'd take an SDR role, unless they had no other choice. But in an AE role you'll have "harder" quotas to hit. Edit: I thought they were both in Dubai. Only you know which country you'd rather live in, that's your call. If you prefer to stay in Canada, take the SDR role, crush it, and get promoted to an AE. Also consider where you want to be long term. Employers typically value people who have sold into their market before. If in Dubai you'd be selling to that region mainly then you wanted to come back to Canada and sell to that market you *might* struggle a bit more finding a job since you won't have the experience with their market. It'll vary from company to company. But I've seen sales leaders say no to people for US based markets b/c their experience was selling to LATAM for example.
Yup, exactly right, I’ve heard that companies love hiring sales reps for their contact list/rolodex in the area they’re going to be selling in. They like the contact list more than if you sold the same products.
Seriously, leave Canada is the best thing you can do for yourself
Dubai is expensive if you want a lifestyle worth living. Just wanted to drop that sentiment
