I have worked at TikTok US core tech for 3 years. AMA.
Background: 4.5 yoe @ median size company, current salary ~260k. Meta(Facebook): E4, TC: 320k + 75k sign on Asana: 340k + 45k sign on (The Salary from Asana didn’t meet my expectation so I am joining Meta. ) I personally prefer big companies like Meta, and meta is closer to my home so less commute time, but the level from Meta is only E4. L5 offer from Asana is very appealing, but I am a bit concerned for the future of Asana since the stock dropped 78% already from the highest point. Another concern for Asana is the stock-refresh policy, anyone familiar with that? I know meta & google have very good refresh policy, your salary will increase over years. Other companies(e.g. ServiceNow) your salary will basically stay the same or very little increase... Which one you would choose if you were me and why? Thanks. #engineering
Vote Asana
Wow asana is some of the highest rated I’ve seen on blind
Go for Meta Companies like Asana will remain hammered for next 1-2 years
Why?
He has no idea why but I think I agree with him. After the crazy economic year in 2020/2021 I think growth stocks are in for a bad time for a couple years
very different companies in my opinion. cut throat culture vs more relaxed culture large organization vs smaller organization more project options vs limited product focus
Asana. Meta is gonna follow nflx soon. Asana seems like a cool place to work. Most growth stocks are finding fair valuation and after a 78% drop they're probably more reasonably priced. But I don't know much about their financials or how they're doing overall.
U know anyone who uses Asana ? While their product is cool I don’t see widespread adoption
Asana, did an on-site with them very recently and everyone I spoke to was awesome imo
I thought Asana doesn’t have title for SDE. How do you know you are L5?
We don't do titles but everyone has a level for comp and growth purposes.
Isn't Asana office culture instead of wfh/hybrid?
It’s still wfh if you want, Hybrid in sept
Recruiter told me refreshers are performance based, not guaranteed (could be 0 I think), and amount for refresher makes it so that your tc is in line with your level
Make it a poll
making it a poll means higher TC wins
poll added (:
