Offer Review: ServiceNow vs. C3 AI

Received Early Career offer from C3 AI and an IC2 from ServiceNow, confused which one to choose! ServiceNow: Software Engineer (majorly backend work) Fully-remote Base: $117k in North Carolina Joining Bonus: $11k Stocks: $24k Tech-stack: Java 11, mostly backend C3 AI: Full-stack engineer Hybrid (1 day WFH) Base: $125k in Bay Area Joining Bonus: $60k RSUs: 12500 Tech-stack: Scala, Akka, Spark, React, with some Infra (container orchestration and MLOps) The work as well the tech in C3 AI looks good, and SNOW seems to be stuck with a lot of traditional tech, but my savings would be immensely more with SNOW. Any reviews/pointers would be helpful. Thanks in advance! #servicenow #c3ai #offers #offer #remote

Service now. The culture at c3.ai is boomer style. I work at service now and my roommate works at c3.ai. lol what a coincidence

The work is good tho with latest tech stack for c3.ai but the pay and culture you might like more at servicenow. Maybe go to big company in this current economic conditions and can switch after years

Thanks for the reply! Can you please elaborate on C3 AI culture?

C3.ai please NO.. Service Now has great earnings, recurring revenue and pretty much a monopoly

1 day WFH is a pretty crappy hybrid policy.

True that. And I heard that's tracked as well?

ServiceNow is consistently innovating and acquiring companies to grow. My vote is with NOW Maybe make a poll?

Good idea! Thanks.

welcome to ServiceNow. Enjoy the chill culture

I’d say ServiceNow. Had an offer from C3 when I was choosing between them and Roblox (you can search for the post if you look for C3 posts) and one of the things that kinda turned me off was the vibe I got from the interviewers and reviews. I took the reviews with a grain of salt but when I asked the HM about the possibility of layoffs (bc I was worried about this), he said that they probably wouldn’t be doing any because they were having trouble hiring at all. Not the kinda thing you want to hear when you’re trying to decide whether or not to join lol

You would be an idiot to not take the C3.ai offer. Amazing opportunities and tons of face time to develop your career. If you take the SNOW offer you will probably set yourself back 10 years at least.

Micron nGyi21 OP Aug 6, 2022

Can you elaborate? Why would ServiceNow set me back 10 years?

Microsoft Mr. Bozo Aug 6, 2022

C3.ai is a rocket ship. If you turn down this opportunity, you will regret it forever. Take the damn offer son and thank me later.

I know a lot about c3.ai (two close friends work there). Don’t even think about it. The culture is unbearable. Both have been there less than a year and are already trying to leave.

Flagged by the community.

How’s the pay like ? Can I DM you? They reached out to me for a Forward deployed engineer role. I am not sure if I should interview for that or should look for a SWE role instead. I want to be a SWE in the future

Teammates at C3 AI are cool but management is bad. Stay away at all cost. Trust me you will regret within the first 6 months after you join. Also about 1 day WFH, they will take that away in 2023.

I interviewed at C3 recently and all rounds went great, but I still received a reject. The recruiter informed me about the decision in <30sec on a call and gave me no opportunities to talk. Horrible experience!!

You have truly dodged a bullet. The situation is so fucked up. The tech team actively interviews people but Siebel decides to not approve the offers at the very last step.
