Horrible Netflix ML interview experience
The offer: Aurora Innovation 135k base 15% bonus target $160k / 4-years equity at 11B valuation (1 year cliff, quarterly afterwards) IPO via SPAC anticipated Q4 2021 SF Bay Area I have a few years of data analyst experience at non-tech companies, but this would be my first tech job. #dataanalyst #dataanalytics #datascience #aurora #waymo #cruise #offer
That base is a low-ball.
That sounds reasonable and a great starting point for negotiations
Take it. First tech job. This will be huge progress toward an even better job
Big +1
Congratulations! Sounds consistent with what we have. We recently went through a comp leveling process that was pretty fair, but of course you can usually get more if you have competing offers
Thank you so much for your data point, this helps a lot!!
Sounds about right!
What level is this role?
I guess the first question is are YOU happy with it? Data Analyst can mean so many things nowadays it’s hard to give a yes or no answer to this type of question.
Follow up to say if it’s a true DA role, gathering and cleaning data, creating reports and dashboards, etc, with limited statistical rigor, and your YOE, then it’s average for Bay Area. Would be pretty solid for remote. But good offer as a baseline with no tech experience and you’ll only go up from there.
