YOE 11 TC 160k + 0 Got these offers over the last month, Amazon and Intuitive in the Bay Area, SpaceX Starlink team in Redmond. The SpaceX internal stock has seen an average ~40% annual growth, but I’ve heard there is a lot of burnout. I’m a little wary of the security of the Amazon role as it is a small R&D team. What do you guys think?
Couple of thighs to note: 1) SpaceX Starlink in Redmond is pretty chill by SpaceX standards, and the burnout is lower than in rocket SpaceX 2) I wouldn't expect 40% growth going forward but there's still def some room for growth still 3) Your equity grant is surprisingly low for Senior, they def can go better than that 4) Pau attention to Amazon vesting schedule, it's 5-15-40-40, so if you don't stick around for more than 3 years you'll not receive much stock
On the money, especially about (1) and (2)
How much can spacex go? 300b?
Intuitive has a great WLB amd it's stock is performing well. Try to negotiate RSUs with Intuitive, that number looks bit low.
The Amazon TC target was $245k, the SpaceX grant was $250k/5 yrs.
Intuitive can give you a bit more RSUs, ask for $190k over four years. You can probably get another $10k out of them for base too. They may be the second highest offer in this poll, but you’re likely to stay longer than at Amazon. Great WLB and we haven’t done layoffs and none are expected is what I’ve been told. Plus the stock has grown substantially in the past year and still has a lot of room. Whereas Amazon is a bit more steady slow growth
Intuitive is the best
Wow congrats. What's your background? Personally voted for Amazon (pay, hopefully less documentation work compared to aero/medical) but can't go wrong with Intuitive either.
Thanks! Mostly in the med device field
