Offers: Amazon AWS- SDE2 - Seattle - 285k Big Pharma (gsk) - Senior - San Francisco - 311k Current: Uber- 246k (183k+30k rsu +33k bonus) YOE- 6 Background: H1B with about 2.5 years remaining, no i140 + country of birth India so no scope of PR Considerations: - Day 1 GC/perm processing: both companies agree to it - Don’t really care about wlb, apart from gym and watching European football on weekends I got no hobbies or friends - Single Male, no family issues for relocation Other factors: - TC for Uber is low because of internal transfer from India to US and rapid rise from SDE1 to senior in last couple of years, was a barely-hovering-over-pip sde1 for first 3 years. (spent time doing other things in life) - Leaving because TC is low, will not get more in annual refresher and current team is meh. -Currently, leaning towards Amazon to get the faang years under my belt, but fear of layoffs cancelling perm processing is a worry. I have couple of interviews coming up with Roblox and Zoox but idk if I’ll crack the interviews. I’m a competitive coder (1900+ codeforces/1k+ lc problems) so LC interviews are easy but system design is a hit or miss. At this point I don’t plan to spend more time doing interview prep and take one of the above offers. #
You got 2.5 years left, if you primarily came to the US to save money, it makes sense to take Amazon lcol with 90%+ cash over 2 years.
I have a fairly decent amount of money saved up, goal is to get a priority date in the GC queue within the next 2.5 years and probably move back to India or Canada and wait till it becomes current.

Mine was pretty straightforward, there were four sections: 1. Make a docker file to compile and run a c program 2. Run a few basic git commands to setup a repository in a certain way 3. Coding: write code in python to call an API and parse some information 4. Basic sql select question Good luck!

Amazon has been extra shitty from past year, I would choose the Big Pharma. If you change your mind later on, I think, Amazon might hire you till 1 year after the offer. This happened with my friend.
