Folks I need help and opinion to choose between Goldman sachs, BNY mellon and Tesco. YOE :- 13.5 Cuurent TC :- 34 lpa (fixed) GS offer (bangalore) : VP (Engineering) + 50 fix + 2.2 (Relocation - verbal) + 10 (annual bonus - verbal) BNY offer (Pune) : VP - 52.5 fixed + 5 (JB) + 4.2 (Relocation - verbal) + 9 (annual bonus - verbal) Tesco : SDE3 - yet to discuss on compensation. Not sure if they can provide counter offer at sde3 Details:- I am left with a weeks time to decide. I live at my own place in NCR. I am inclined towards GS but 1.GS is offering less while cost of living for bangalore is highest 2. GS is asking to report to bangalore from day 1 3. BNY is allowing wfh for 3 months atleast but I am not sure abt their annual bonus promise 4. I am planning to negotiate GS based on bny offer 5. Long term plan is to move into tech so bangalore looks better #goldmansachs #bnymellon #tesco #tech
GS can go till 65. Try negotiating. 50 is default basic VP base. Given your experience, you should ask for more.
GS was my first offer so i couldn't negotiate well. Will talk to them now
Can you confirm on the curreny wfh status of GS? The HR is insisting to report to office from day one.
Cool. Btw, I feel like there at definitely a lot of awesome teams at GS. Inspite of what you read on Blind. I think if your looking for good work, team, culture etc - one can definite find that in GS. As majority of engineering teams have presencr in Blr.
Bny will not ask you to come to office forever. They are coming with hybrid model where you will have to go to office once in two months or three months.. but do you know which project they will put you in??
Bny bonus is not promised as it is verbal.. and if you want to move to tech then stop looking for GS and BNY and move to tesco for whatever they give you.. i know it is a hard decision but trust me it is for good.. i have also faced the similar situation last month when i moved out of BNY.. and joined Faang.. but i am happy cz the amt of things i learnt in one month is no where comparable to any bank..
GS is severely low balling you it seems. But it is the best option I think there is amongst yours. Choose BNY for work life balance with no TC growth
Tesco should be able to match these offers. Beware about the bonus though. Offer letter would say 15% bonus but that is the upper limit (for exceeds/exceeds), not what's actually given. 10% is the rate for met/met.

If you plan on moving into tech avoid banks
I have spent 13 yrs in service based org and finding it difficult to get my resume shortlisted for tech giants currently. Just want to be in a place which makes my resume better.
Non bank is Tesco SDE3 which doesn't look appropriate at my experience and I am yet to hear back from them.
