Take into account where you want to live. Also I think the COLA is higher in that part of Cali compared to Oregon

My friends in cadence are generally happier somehow. Also California still have more opportunities if you want to switch in a few years

TSMC Power62gh May 13, 2023

It's not a design company, that's why. Only few teams work on end to end projects.

What does cadence do ?

Intel 34b5wef Apr 10, 2023

They make the software that chipmakers use.

Synopsys synapses1 Apr 10, 2023

Go to Cali!! The land of opportunity.

Intel 34b5wef Apr 10, 2023

If you're working on internal Intel software, do not come. If it's external software (customer-facing) it should be fine.

Intel cursed4eva Apr 10, 2023

I work on internal software and I second you.

Siemens wMGq3a OP Apr 10, 2023

I’ll be working on internal tool development.

take the higher base

Intel panekeoe73 Apr 12, 2023

Wouldn't reccomend intel, there's no job security here. They cut down bonuses when they please, no promos, raises etc. The situation is grim. Also while col is higher in cali it has way more opportunities. I agree with above poster to take the higher base in this environment. Btw intel is also cutting down base pay these days.

Look for better work and team in initial years

15k more base in CA is basically gone in cost of living so you can choose based on location you prefer, CA has more job opportunities for the future

Intel osgt30 Apr 15, 2023
