Company A - Base 190k Equity 200k/4years Company B - Base 195k Equity 250k/4years No sign on, no 401k match at both companies. I have been told this the max they'd go. Experience : 5 years These were my burner interviews but I like the team. I feel that they've lot of potential to grow. However, I'm in a tricky situation. I have interviews scheduled with FAANG in coming weeks but I have to make a decision with my current offers in a few days. How should I go about it? Edit: I am interested company A's roadmap and I think they've a lot of potential to grow. This is what making me to choose A over B. Should I accept company A for now and change my mind later if I get a better offer? (I don't want to do this but if no other option, I'll have to) I know FAANG pay better than these two offers in terms of RSUs. How much can I expect? Thanks!
Why Not tell them to wait so you don't have to lie?
Telling them ‘hey you’re not my first choice.. if I don’t get anywhere I want, I’ll join you’ is dumb. Just buy more time by saying you need time coz comp in RSU is slightly lower than expected. Ask FAANG to speed up.
They don't want to wait. It's their tactic to pressure me accepting the offer. @show: yes, I did. It's scheduled within few weeks.
I don’t know if you’re showing off, an idiot, or if this is a trick question. You gave no additional into about company a or b other than that b pays more... and then ask if you should take offer a. Uhhhbb duh...
Well, I can't reveal the companies because they're small and high chances that they'd know who I'm. Even though B pays more, I don't see them growing like company A. I should have been more clear about the company A and why I want to choose them.
Any other hidden reasons you’re not telling us? And why are you even asking.
The upside in FAANg will be way higher to let go this opportunity. I would say pass
Thanks! I have an interview with Apple as well. Just curious about the comp part, do you think Apple would go higher than my current offers?
Yeah for sure
With 5 years of experience, FB will likely level you at E4. Your base will be much lower than your other companies, and RSUs potentially slightly higher than company B. The benefits and growth trajectory will certainly put it ahead of the other two over the next few years though. If you're leveled at E5 (which is unlikely), your base will be about the same as the other two companies, and RSUs much higher.
Thanks, this helps! Based on Blind's data : I think salary range for E4 - $155k-$175k and $250k - $500k/4years E5 - $165-$195k and $350k-$550k/4years. Is this right?
No sir, not for FB. Google underlevels and pays RSUs from the next level very often, but FB doesn't go over the band for the level offered. $250k - $300k for E4 and $300k - $400k for low E5 sounds closer to reality.
Thanks.
If companies A and B are small then why is base pay high and RSU low? Are they start-ups?
No, they're not. They went public recently and don't want to give out too many stocks.
If they aren't small, then why not share their names? Or say you are "asking for a friend".
Seems like these are kind of startups.. as there is no 401k.. if that is the case.. go with what u love.. no point in comparing 15k difference per year
Amazon won't pay you more than the offers you received..
Really? What's their top of the range for someone with my experience?
I don’t have anything to add @justchill1 but I would like to mention that I appreciate the fact that you are interested in the work and the company growth. I hardly ever run into candidates that ask these questions.
It makes sense candidates wouldn't ask these things: we all know what companies are growing and team matching is for the candidate to find interesting work that suits them.

Go with Company A. Because less money is....better?
Can’t be too materialistic these days.
Haha.. I updated my question. I realized I was very vague.
