Offer evaluation Tesla/Gemini
I’ve got two offers and I’m really torn on what to do. They’re both senior software engineer, both would be working on cool stuff and would be impactful for the business. For Gemini I’d have the choice to pick any team I want and for Tesla I would be in their internal tools/logistics teams. I care about career growth and I feel both of these options satisfy that. Both benefits packages are good, but Gemini has 401k match 5% and parental leave 18 weeks vs Tesla’s 7. I live in the Bay Area and my YOE: 6 Tesla: Base: $165k Rsu: $200k / 4 years Gemini: Base: $175k Bonus: 10% Sign on: $10k Equity: 5k profit interest units (currently valued at $75k with company valuation $1b) I’m really struggling with this one. I really love the Tesla brand and product but I think crypto is the future and Gemini is an exciting opportunity to get in pre ipo. Don’t know what to do. Thanks blind fam

If its when the company is valued at 1 billion. If you believe in the company it should be worth 10x in a few years

they both kinda suck, but Gemini gets you into a hot industry. I recommend either: 1. keep interviewing 2. join Gemini, learn and grow and then reinterview elsewhere in a year

rh is fun work and pays decently. I don't think everyone makes TC 400 on blind, but it'd say the majority of blinders with 6yoe who live in bay area make TC300+. Your offers appear below that unfortunately. Bay area is expensive but it also has by far the most opportunities, if you're here you gotta make use of it.
