I just received an offer from and wanted to see if if it's good compared to others in GM. Almost 5 years exp. Bachelor’s in mechanical. TC: 85k 401k match is 3% GM offer: level 6B DRE 95k base. Bonus 10% 401k 8% total Bonus 10%( was told that this year was and might be 20% for years to come)
It wont be 20% again. It will be back to 10% where most people won't get more than 5 to 8%. What type or job is it? If not high tech high demand role then its a good offer
It's a DRE - front & rear closures. 5 to 8% bonus seems low. Big difference than 20% lol
Bet ur managers nuts that it won't be 20%. For closures it's a good offer.
It's a normal offer for 6B. The bonus is fixed at a 10% target for level 6's. But it is modified by company performance. Company performance hit 200% this year, so level 6's got a 20% bonus this year. Last year was 90%, so 6's got 90% of their bonus = 9%.
I got a 90k 5A offer and want to know just how close I was to getting to 6 figs. My fellow NCH thinks we'll get the full 10% but I'm very skeptical. Is it possible to get 0% or what do u think the lowest would be? Thanks
2020 peak COVID was 90%. 2021 was 200% . 5A is only an 8% bonus target so I don't know what you're asking.
The 401k match should be 4% company wide
It’s 4% but they contribute 4% even if you contribute $0. Then they match up to 4%. That’s my understanding. so 8% total
That’s a standard DRE offer but I would definitely try to get into the 6 figures. Just a few weeks ago I was able to negotiate 103k. With 3k sign on and I have 3 years experience. Rest being the same as yours. Don’t cut yourself short! If they say no then you still got a good offer
Pretty decent for GM but ask for 100k at least .. market is too hot and they might offer
This exactly. Bonus is never a guarantee, sure it happens every year but no one can predict how much. For 5A the range is from 58-95.5k median being 77k. Not sure about the range for 6B
@HyperCars can I assume any kind of bonus? I just accepted a 90k offer for 5A as NCH, its alright starting out but if I could talk myself into the 10% bonus for 99k + the wellness incentive of $1.5k (if that's actually right based off what I said), I could rest a little easier that I technically got 6 figs out of college. However, I'm for obvious reasons just assuming it'll be 0% bonus until it actually happens. Do you have years of exp at GM for a history of the bonuses? thanks
