Any suggestions on the offer? VMware (by Broadcom under VCF) vs Amazon (under retail) Junior level, almost the same tc Pros for VMware: perfect wlb Cons for VMware: low job security because of acquisition Pros for Amazon: maybe better job stability Cons for Amazon: worse culture & wlb #vmware #amazon
Which part of VCF? If you don't feel comfortable sharing detail: on prem stuff seems pretty safe, if you're okay potentially getting moved around as priorities change. If you're specifically on something core to the cash cow, you're very safe.
Cloud platform team. Do you think this is a safe team?
Cloud platform teams are all getting cut in May. This is coming from my SD. We are moving 20 years backwards in technology to only support on prem products
If you got an external offer, please take it. VMware culture is anyway totally screwed with BC acquisition. Instead of having layoff anxiety every few weeks you will have peace of mind at Amazon.
“You will have peace of mind at Amazon” 😂🤣. False.
I worked at AWS for 5.5 years before this. Not once did I have to worry if I had a job the next day or not. Yes, the work pressure was always high but that’s about it. I was always a HV candidate throughout my tenure. Was really frustrated with the promo process and left Amazon
How many yoe? What was your prep and timeline like? Also, if your vmware tc is the same as amazon then definitely switch. You havent even included equity in your calculations
<1yr. Amazon offer is from student program
Anyone know whether there will be more cuts in the Sd-wan team?
Location and yoe?

Amazon is hiring for L4? Something is fishy

What were you doing in aws? Sde?
Pros for Amazon: maybe better job stability —ROFL
Go to Amazon. Broadcom is a dictator run company
I wouldn’t want to join a company in the process of getting acquired right now. It might be fine for a few months or even a year depending on how long integration takes but sooner rather than later, redundant roles and teams get laid off on the acquired company side
Thanks! But I am now working for VMware and have an offer from Amazon
Then OF COURSE take Amazon. Everyone is voting assuming you're in another Company getting these 2 offers
