Offer review - IBM
Got an offer from IBM(Blr) for RTL design role. Level: Staff R&D engineer Annual: ~32L(incl retirals) Sign on: 13L(2 yrs) Overall - ~38.5Lpa Perf Bonus - usually around 10% of base, as per HR YOE - 4+ Need insights regarding the number(decent/lowball), and about IBM in general. Is it a recommended place to work for RTL design? Any points(pros/cons) I should know about before I convey my decision? From what I understand, the role for which I am being considered focuses more towards power management design for thier processors, working on boot engine and boot security, tackling timing issues etc. I have zero experience in this area. Moreover, I'm not sure whether this is a niche role or standard one. It would be good to know whether or not this is a role that is present across other companies also, considering future prospects. This role doesnt involve any work on PCIe, which has been my primary area of expertise so far. Current TC - 25L Please provide your valuable opinions #hardware #ibm #rtldesign
Hi, this is a good offer. I work in ISDL, and IBM is heavily investing in hardware development in India. Outlook for the growth in future is great! Your expertise in PCIe won't go in drain, there is ample ample of work there too. First get into the system, then you can choose work based on your liking.
