Hello All, I hope someone can explain and make me understand what exactly happened- I interviewed for a role at Informatica about a month ago ( I gave my final round in India. I had to travel to India and there was scheduling issues while finding time to schedule my final round with Informatica.) and didn’t get that position. But the HR and the hiring manager said they liked me a lot and will reach out when a new role will open( there was another role opening up for me in the same team just one level lower). I followed up and some weeks later- Tuesday morning (02/03) they gave me a verbal offer for the same role just one level below. During this time I was interviewing with other companies as well. And since I’m an H1B candidate, I also need to have visa transfer. I had an offer from another company a while back Oct/Nov but my visa transfer was taking long and I was uncertain about whether or not I’ll move. I had a lot of hiccups with the transfer. And since I didn’t get Informatica offer and my visa got transferred before I left for India, I moved to the new company on May 2nd. Informatica offered me the job on May 3rd. I accepted on May 4th. Informatica was my first choice. Now Wednesday (02/04) I had immigration questions so I mentioned I moved and have a new visa etc etc to my immigration team and my HR rings me and asks “you moved companies?” “When did you start and what’s the name of the company”. She speaks to my Hiring managers and get back to me the same day 02/04 saying they rescinded my offer because “I was secretive and didn’t tell them”. “And there was scheduling issue for your final round”. So it’s gone. I don’t understand why this would be a reason for pulling the offer? I was not secretive or holding anything back. I simply did not mention I had another job because my transfer was uncertain. I don’t understand what happened. I’m so confused.
And I also made it very very clear that Informatica was my first choice.
Rookie mistake. I don’t think there was a need to mention about your new visa to the immigration team. Nothing different. Either that or you should have mentioned it while they have you the verbal offer.

Well I guess they are concerned that you are willing to leave another employer that you just joined on May 2nd. Such behavior can cause concern for potential employers. In your mind you did not disclose anything because visa transfer was taking long time. But think from Informatica's perspective. They can't be sure whether you are being truthful about everything. Their main fear would be you could also leave Informatica immediately if you get a better offer. As a word of caution for future, just pay for premium processing yourself, for h1b transfer in future if employer does not pay themselves. Much better than waiting for months. Not sure how that employer you joined on may 2nd was ready to wait for you from oct / Nov of last year. Was it one of those consulting firms?
They did to premium processing. My visa application was rejected and the company applied again. But I was not sure that the visa will be approved, so I kept interviewing.
hmm, that is hard luck . I guess the HM is just being extra cautious here. Probably you can try to reach out to the HM directly if you have their contact and try to explain. Else I can't think of any solution here. Good luck
