Chime (valued at 25B) SWE role Higher TC Pros: WLB, really good reviews on Blind (quite honestly tired and burnt out from where I'm working right now), mission driven Cons: Traditional swe, not sure how much ML exposure I can get at a different team Reddit (Valued at 10B) MLE role Lower TC Pros: E2E MLE experience which I am dying to work on Cons: not sure about the culture & reviews about poor leadership, WLB seems like a question mark Can you help me decide? Edited: going to Reddit! 🚀 Yoe: 3 Current tc: 🥜
I’d go chime
May I ask why?
Reddit has much more upside IMO. I don’t get what Chime’s moat or business advantage is
Why is chime valuation 41B? I thought their last funding round was less than that. Lmk if I missed it tho. Congrats on both offers
Oops my b - it's at 25B. Edited
If you meant $41, that’s at 14.5B, not 25B.
Op, are you on visa ?
Yes and in dire need of gc 💩
Good luck with your GC process. Mind sharing some interview insights with chime? Do they ask LC type questions? If so, are they LC hard ? Or medium?
Chime is 25B. What’s the currency?
My bad - edited
I don't get chimes high valuation. There's too many online banks out there and I don't see how it could stand out against them.
Chime. Chime is fairly valued at this point and most probably close to IPO. Culture and WLB is awesome. Tech stack may be little boring but positives outweigh the negatives. You may not get 4x 5x return anymore. Realistically you nay get 2x return or 1x in worst case it may go little down . In the worst case scenario all the companies are going to go down. Reddit is also 10b and it's already in slippery slope and in path of next Quora. You may not get 2x 3x gain at reddit also.
What are you saying! Reddit has r/wsb, we will meme it to moon! 🤣💎💪
Path of next quora … sure…
OP, Happy to answer any questions about Chime.
Hey chime, I have an upcoming interview for senior or staff role, can I dm you about comp questions in Canada ?
Sure! That said, I don’t have much info about it. Levels.fyi might be your best bet.
You’re still young-ish in the industry. I’d optimize for your career path with some eye towards comp. Up to you decide which company has the most financial upside but it looks like Reddit offers more of the ML experience you want. I can confirm that our ML teams are on fire and there is no shortage of problems to solve.
