Unqork (series C startup) : 187k, 7% annual bonus, 2000 unit (I guess it’s worth 44k) equity vesting over a period of 4 years. Fully remote(only thing that worries me is this is a complete new backend language that I would be working on. So not sure if I will be able to cope with the manager’s expectations) JP Morgan chase : 160k, 60k incentive paid at the end of the annual cycle and 6% annual bonus(hybrid, 2-3 days in office) TripActions (series F startup ) : 200k, equity 60k(over 4 years), 8% annual bonus(hybrid, minimum 3 days in office ) Also, I have virtual onsites scheduled in the upcoming weeks for Uber, Lyft, Intuit and Doordash but still I have to accept offers from either of the above 3 companies because of the offer acceptance deadline that I have been given Current TC 140k, 13% annual bonus, 10 YOE, Senior Backend Engineer
Uber / Lyft / DoorDash will easily beat all of them out of the water. Keep interviewing
Yep agree with Googler over here. Also I’d take TripActions. Really good and interesting product to work on. You will learn a lot. Which new backend language btw? That’s a COST to your career btw if it’s not a common skill, you will come out 2-3 years in skill deficit if it’s not something common
Have been working on java extensively and Node.js is the language that i might have to take up incase i decide to join Unqork which is not so uncommon but would be challenging initially.
Node.js isn’t that difficult to pick up on. Language is a means to an end. By your responses, you don’t sound very confident OP. What level are you at Shutterfly?
Is tripactions $60K over 4 years or per year?
Over 4 years
60k based on what? Are you sure it’s not 60k shares of options?
The comp is one aspect but I would encourage you to speak to those working in those environments to learn the culture of those places or of your pillar. TripActions will most likely be 60k shares with a 1 yr cliff
Yeah I did speak to quite a few current and ex employees of TA outside of blind and i got mostly positive responses in terms of company culture and growth.
Hi, I am also in the phase of offer negotiation for senior software developer position. Can you help me share what is the max range of base pay and stock unit options? And is there a way one can get stock options without strike price?
Honestly all those salaries are low for a senior engineer. Even for a startup I'd expect the salary to be in the 200-220 range for seniors IMO
Absolutely, I get your point. But these are at-least better than my current TC. So I am just thinking to accept either of these as a backup and keep interviewing over the next couple of weeks and try getting a better offer.
