Have 2 offers from Tiktok and Flexport, both around 480K with 50% cash + bonus and 50% paper money. Both are hybrid RTO. Flexport quoted stock price at $14. Currently remote in MCOL, IC5 SWE, TC 300K (was internally promoted and joined as ic4 when stock was high). My 300K is probably equivalent to 450K in SF or Seattle so this seems like a lateral move :( I'm not too excited about Tiktok given the horror stories and the fact that I dont speak Chinese. From a purely financial side, what would you do? How do people feel about Flexport and Tiktok stock ? Are they still hot companies with potential upside when IPO? #tech #flexport #bytedance
Flexport is a shitshow..
could you elaborate? did you work there?
Flexport is terrible wlb
So is TikTok 😂
how do you know? did you work there?
Flexport margin is low.
Stay at Meta
Remote?
care to elaborate?
still unprofitable? really? any idea on when ipo or some liquitity event may happen?
Avoid any organization that has Dave Clark in it... run away from flexport
What level at Flexport? That's a very good offer(except for the private valuation that's not adjusted. It's how it works unfortunately).
senior offer
Don’t chase paper money. Tiktok used to give more cash and almost no/less stock - see if you can get that deal now. If not, better stay at meta
flexport has been one of the hottest startups recently so im hoping to make some dough on their potential upside when ipo
It’s not a bad bet if you want to play the IPO game
TT will always be paper stock, zero chance they IPO. They’ve been banned in Montana already so that’s probably a bad sign long term, especially if a republican wins the next presidential election
That’s why you negotiate 90% cash
