So I'm a new grad software engineer and have been at Citi for ~5 months and I'm planning on leaving for Company B soon for a variety of reasons. I will only be at Citi for 7 months. After another 5-10 years of experience, I am planning on omitting my time at Citi entirely. So if an employer / investor were to ask about my background, I would say that I graduated from School X and then worked at Companies B, C, .... Is this a permissible thing to do? What do you think about this strategy? #resume
lol I am changing job in 2 months. I dont think it matters at all. Although Im at a startup so I can make many excuses.
Can I ask what types of excuses you make for leaving your start up? I’m fairly new to this app and would consider myself in the early part of my career... I thought companies LOVE “start up culture mentality “ so I feel like saying “I hate how disorganized my start up is” would be points against you
Just keep your resume to two pages long, as you get older, the older jobs will just drop off from your resume due to lack of space. It is totally fine not to mention the first job.
I would leave it out as soon as I left lol.
