Had an onsite with Uber the other day. 2 coding 1 sys design 1 hiring manager. The last coding interview didn’t go too well (code didnt compile due to a bug with my indexes) but I believe my solution was optimal as I explained it (also felt like communication wasn’t too great). How will this impact my result if I did decent on the other rounds?
I think it depends on the company and interviewers. If Amazon or Microsoft, that is fine. If young companies like Uber and Airbnb, they are less forgiving.
Should be fine
If it does, tell them everything is good as long as it is getting better, like their quarterly losses. 😁
If your other rounds went well, then it shouldn't matter, but depends upon the interviewer.
Any Tips for Uber phone screen?
It depends on how much they want you. In Uber case, I think you will be fine
Why do you say that?
Because they need people now as their PR is really bad after layoffs
Update: got the offer
Congrats! What’s the TC+breakdown?

Principal Software Engineer TC~300K at Microsoft vs 600K at Meta. Is 300k pretty low for Principal scope?
You’ll prob be fine if the interviewer was convinced and if you did really well on all other rounds. When do you hear back? Update with your results!
