Hello everyone, It's been more than 5 months since I started preparing for interviews. Its really devastating and demotivating to receive rejects from most of the onsite interviews. I made onsite twice at apple, Amazon, nvidia, Facebook (got reject today:( ) all ended up getting reject from onsite. I ended up preperaing a lot, solved more than 430 LC, grokking system design but still unable to land job offer since few months and it's sapped my energy. I don't know where I am going wrong..even the recruiters give very generic feedback, "your interviews went well, but ended up selecting on another candidate" . Any feedback would be really helpful. Ps: I ended up giving 2 offers along the way though, they are not my targeted companies ..ended up decling those offers. Tc :160k (5y)
What happened with Amazon?
Which ones did you reject? The rejections could be related to your past experiences at Intel not being so valuable as a Senior Engineer to those FANG companies.
I really don't think so, I have relevant deep learning compiler experience with open source contribution. The ones I rejected are from startup and another semiconductor company.
You already solved 450LC so I assume your coding interviews went pretty solid. Weakness could be then in system design.
it's a number game. I tried 7 companies. Got 3 rejects from the first 3 onsites and 4 offers later
Did you do a lot of mock interviews with employees from these companies? Perhaps that’ll help
I have used pramp, but how to interview with employees? Can you provide platform names if you know any?
Thanks, I too think system design is not my forte yet. I will work on it :)
Similar experience, I think it’s probably system design rejections or resume isn’t strong (not enough backend experience). The reality is for system design and resume, they want to see strong backend/platform/infra experience. If you deviate a bit, for senior positions, that seem to err on the side of caution.

All you need is one yes. Keep going.
