Opinion of Marqeta + Potential Referral
Hi all, Recently found out about Marqeta as I am looking for a new role. For those already there, what has your experience been like? Comp fair? WLB/remote? If I decide to apply anyone willing to provide referral? Thanks in advance! TC 130K YOE 6

Senior SWE at marqeta here. Comp is 175k base and %15 year end bonus. Hard to quantify RSU due to promotions and equity refreshers. Essentially in the next 4 years im going to vest another 12k shares
Marqeta, like most companies, is a mixed bag. Each team operates somewhat separately from the others, so making sure that you’re on a team that you like, with a manager that you trust, is key. That being said, the TC that you listed looks really low compared to what you should expect at Marqeta. The WLB is generally pretty good (again, depending on the team somewhat), the benefits are good, the product is solid and well setup to succeed into the future. And remote work is the whole future at Marqeta. It’s not going back to in-office work.
Agree with this 100%. Some teams are feeling burnout but the company doesn't expect anyone to be a martyr for their work. You can find better benefits, and better pay, and definitely better growth opportunities, but at MQ you never have to sacrifice any of these - it's all-around a very good company.
TC low for ICs. I would say management and above are doing quite well.
