I've heard some not great things about Disney from Blind here. Is the tech not that interesting? Is the workplace toxic? I believe the team I'd join works on subscriptions for all services. #tech #disney #disneyhiring
Heard it is toxic and underpaid; have two friends who worked there
It's tricky - a lot of the divisions within DMED (the business unit that contains Streaming) are strongly owned by their respective execs, without a lot of consistent process or policy (even things like RTO are set at the parent company level but enforced or not at the VP level) This means it's really hard to answer your question in a sweeping way and be very accurate. I work in a Product role and really have had a great experience with my projects and partners and WLB. I hear the horror stories on Blind and it sounds like a whole different company - totally incoherent to my own experience and observations. If we believe those stories (and it's possible that they're true, like I said, it's a big company) then I'd say, it's up to you to really vet the folks you're interviewing with, try to get some insiders to look into the hiring manager, etc. I can say, my TC is comparable to similar roles elsewhere and my WLB is top tier. Plus the equity comp is real and liquid
This would be for GrowthLife team. Bad or good? Lol
Hm this is in DMED? That's Ajay's org? Do you know? Also this is for Product or SWE?
If you have a great PM/ Lead then it’s awesome. I love my team. If you don’t, it can be hell. Most people are chill though.
Seems like a great place to work.
