Got approached by an Indeed recruiter yesterday. Few questions: how good is the pay and wlb compared to FAANG? I am currently L4 at Two Sigma (equivalent to L5 at Google). What level can I expect at Indeed? And finally, how stable is the company? Any layoffs in the horizon? TC: 430k YOE: 7 #engineering #swe
Indeed is very big and well known outside and is number 1 job site in the world, as much MAU as Amazon retail. It has very good prestige and amazing reputation especially for WLB. You will land Staff Role+ and according to levels the pay might be somewhere from 450-650k. I turned out Google and TikTok to join Indeed and have no regrets. Tech here is really strong and the best thing is that itās good for both top performers (25%+ bonus every quoted for top talent) and people with families (no pip/low excoriations in general) Meta > Netflix > indeed > Google > Apple > Amazon
Lol
Lol
The product has gone downhill over the last few years. It used to be used by legit tech companies but now itās the new Dice for recruiter and low paying jobs with companies youāve never heard of. I interviewed there 4 years ago and they nit-picked me on trivia and a few of the interviews were combative. This was in the Seattle office. After the last Interview the engineers walked out and no one came to get me or check in, I had to find the exit myself and the hipsters talking at the reception desk just looked at me as I was trying to find the exit.
I am sorry you had bad experience, but I quite disagree that the product has gone downhill. I am ex Amazon myself and the tech has been growing very rapidly since the pandemic
Stop pretending @egg, how could you formulate opinions like this that are credible if you were actually a new employee like you're claiming in our internal Blind?
Let me tell you something here. Indeed has so much talent, people come from big tech companies to indeed or goes to big tech from here. It is definitely not an easy task to clear interview as well. Cons: slow growth, tc depends on how your interview goes seriously. If you nail it they will beat faang offer but even if you didn't the tc will still be good and the pros are just too many to ignore. Pros: remote, free food, unlimited pto (no bs), every month 1 day company off, very good wlb, good tech stack, super nice people, recession proof.
If indeed had any real talent our products wouldn't be so embarassing. Anyone with half a mind would outright refuse the shit they are told to work on.
They might get near your TC. I would not expect to beat it. They are down level happy so make sure to do well or else you will get senior. Wlb is good but things can seem mediocre. Even though we have a pretty basic product, the code is often a mess. The colleagues who write and approve this garbage code somehow get promoted, even though they introduced tons of bugs along the way with no documentation š§. It seems like managers don't really know what's going on a lot of time despite having only a few reports in many cases.
The guys above you contradict your story lol
I 100% agree with kicz. Indeed's product has been the same for over a decade. The code is fucking garbage. We just switched to cloud-based hosting in the past year. It's 2022. At Indeed you can expect everything to be 10-15 years behind the rest of the industry. Before that we routinely had downtimes, sometimes for hours at a time, every few weeks. There's a recent Blind post about how the switch to AWS has gone and someone had a horror story about pre-AWS, they were blocked from deploying code because the hardware wasn't sufficient and they had to send someone to the data center to add new hardware and rewire things. This is happening in like 2020. Like, what the fuck? That's how slow and broken shit at Indeed was and still is. I'm jumping off this ship ASAP. Go look up the stock price and the Japanese yen. The RSUs are worthless, combined USD value has dropped nearly 70%.
Wtf, why does the comment section feel like a bunch of bought positive reviews on the appstore lol
I suggest you read the thread on here starting from the post by š„-Amazon. Surreal.
It's Indeed culture. The work environment has a lot of forced positivity. The type of people who thrive at Indeed are those who never want to hear anything bad or whether things could be improved. It's why the company hasn't grown beyond the same product for decades and the company reviews are high, because it attracts those kinds of people.

I saw a Googler ( Male ) hit a lady multiple times in the cafe, should I report?
I think the pay is decent, but not FAANG level. Would need at least an uplevel to maintain TC I think.
