Role: Associate Director of Healthcare Economics Base: 150k Bonus: 15% Sign-on: 15k RSU: 0 YOE: 4 Location: Southern California This is the offer they gave me. They told me that there is no more room for negotiation after receiving this one. Is this fair? #optum #compensation
That's a MN rate and that's about right. Grade level 29 or 30
At L30 in MN I came in at $180k base and 20% bonus but had a lot more experience. Director title. 150k is super low for socal.
Wow. At L30 in NY I was at $160k base and 20% bonus with 15 YOE. I feel like I got the short end of the stick in comparison.
Could you comment on the amount of RSUs u get per year at that level? Do you get any?
For optum to pay That much with that YOE is pretty good ngl. The wlb at optum is nice
So the offers are made based on your location, not MN and are comparable to similar roles in the region with your YOE. New hires really can’t negotiate higher, but as a hiring manager, I’ve been able to raise the offer a little. (But the candidate never knew this) However, you will still be eligible for a raise in January- expect between 1-3% more.
Seems about in line with an average offer.. the base has been adjusted for CA and bonus tied to grade level
Wow... Can you pay rent in California with that compensation?
Nope
Outside the IT bubble, 90% of California lives on salaries lower than this.
I work for a company owned by Optum, and got 60K RSU over 4 years. You should get equity.
No equity at Optum unless you are GL 30+. Much different than Rally. Occasionally a GL29 gets a low amount of RSU
Can anyone speak to what bonuses look like? Do folks get the 20% or does it tend to be lower? Also haven’t heard of them offering RSU.
Optum is a good place to work
That’s low, got an offer before and I feel like the rate is base out of MN. Note: Money is not everything, consider your situations
Can you please share little bit more? Was that for Associate Director position?
It’s not for Associate Director position. comparison is base on my YOE and other offer I got at that time.
