Is meta really worth the wait?
Getting offered 140 base and 20k stock a year, at hq in Cali. Is this a good opportunity? Would I be able to transfer to OCI after joining? I'm more concerned about the work than the comp. I was vaguely told by the team that it'll be a devops role with "some" Python and JavaScript, but on Blind it sounds like Fusion apps tech stack is outdated. I'm worried I'll actually be working with some internal tech that doesn't translate well into my future career. Most of the team is also India based, including the manager, so I'm worried about the time difference and whether I'll be able to learn efficiently from my teammates over calls. My only other offer is at Epic Systems for 120 base + 10k stock in a LCOL city. It would be full stack with C# and TypeScript and some obscure nosql language called M. I've heard bad things about wlb but I'm used to eating shit from my last job tbh. I understand both of these roles have a pretty bad rep on this site, but I was laid off with less than 1 YOE, and entry level job market is pretty tough. I'm grateful to have any offers at all. Still actively interviewing for other roles but I'd like to hear other opinions.
Take it. You have 1yoe and is laid off. Look 5 years down the line.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Would you say the learning opportunities and mobility at Oracle are good? I just want to make sure the work I'll be doing will develop my skills.
Gotcha, this might be too specific, but are Oracle applications/fusion developer roles considered software development roles just as much as OCI or other orgs? I'm worried because some of the posts on blind suggest that they are very different, but I didn't really feel that way during my interviews.
Take it but don’t stick around. Oracle has most toxic culture with non existent wlb. Leave before you are part of silent layoffs

Take it. Fusion Apps is not OCI. It has great culture overall, wonderful work life balance, but we're still building new exciting products, not legacy stuff. It's absolutely real software development. It may not be as great as OCI for resume / comp, I'm not sure, but it's a great area.
Fusion Apps is ocean, not sure which team you are going to. Kind of work varied for each team, some teams are fast moving (FA in general is slow in adapting new tech stacks even with Oracle standards).
Take it sounds good opportunity
