It's been more than a week since I accepted my offer from Oracle.. they still haven't assigned an attorney to file my H1b change of employer petition.. nor have they filed the LCA yet. Folks on H1b who recently joined Oracle: Does it always take this long ? And what is the timeline like ?
So the manager has said he has requested premium processing.. so once they file.. hopefully things will move faster..
Oracle’s Immigration firm BALGlobal is pure shit. Completely incompetent people there. Ensure you keep following up and reference subtly the fact that you are checking for the nth time through mail and have left a few detailed VMs on so and so dates.
Thanks will do..
Google has the same firm 😛
Also just curious, Why Oracle from MSFT? Which team/ location?
Joining one of the Oracle Cloud Infra teams in the bay area.. they are giving a decent pay bump from my current salary..
Provide some numbers?
Cool. Good Luck.
@op, can you share your interview experience?
Took me just a few days to file an LCA for H1B transfer. Send them an email every 9:00am and keep doing interview with other companies
Yeah.. that's the plan 😁
Good luck with H1B transfer. I waited 12 weeks for offer letter and there was no H1B transfer required. I would keep working hard at your current job in case it doesn’t go through.
In my case it took 8 weeks from offer letter to h1 transfer approval. Timeline as below 1week waiting for Bal assignment 2 days from my side to get all docs 1 weekend working with hiring manager to get the job description finalized 2 weeks for Oracle internal approvals for attorney retention and premium processing 2 weeks for LCA filling and approval 1 week for h1 filling in premium after LCA approval 2 weeks for approval notice. Make sure the LCA being filed and used for your case is not wage level 1/2 or risk going into RFEs. Constant follow-up with Bal is required as their tracking site is shit, and they are pretty bad in giving out info (I found my own LCA by searching DOL website before they confirmed it was filled and approved, and same case with H1) Overall okok experience if you are hands on with immigration stuff and follow up, definitely not as fast as other FAANG (I came from one so I know)
Wow.. thanks for the info.. looks like I'm in for quite a few weeks of actiing really busy at my current job 😁
@oraguy, thanks! This is helpful. Is this timeline for OCI? Wondering if it varies org wise.
They are so slow..i dont know how they are surviving..they took 3months for me offer till joining..they always do premium though..they suck
I have heard its slow. Also note that they won’t do premium processing unless explicitly requested.
