Hi All, I have 11 years of experience in product based companies (not FAANG) and is currently leading the Architecture of a big cloud product. Going for an interview rounds with Oracle (OCI) and they are interviewing me for an IC3. I can find that in my experience, they should be interviewing at IC4 at least. Is that correct? Also, is it normal and should I wait for the offered to be rolled out to talk for IC4? I can feel that they are looking for premium colleges may be for not interviewing at IC4.#engineering #engineering #software #swe #hiring TC: 36Lpa YOE: 11
OCI is doling out ic3 for 2yoe and above. IMO, for 5 and above ideal should be IC4, for 8 and above it should be IC5. I would suggest you talk to the recruiter and ask for ic4 at least, which will be LMTS. You can easily ask for PMTS role as well. But do not consider any less than LMTS (IC4), otherwise you would be working alongside 2 yoe folks!
Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.
The wording might be wrong but the IC level with respect to YOE is correct. I assumed SMTS to be ic3, MTS to be ic2 and AMTS to be ic1 like sales force as they were giving out ic3 offers to 2 yoe. . But yes, smts is ic2, lmts is ic3 and pmts is ic4 and so on and so forth. It is just odd that they are doling out LMTS to folks with just 2 or 3 yoe!
Wait what's an LMTS? I've never heard of it before.
Generally it is lead member technical staff
But are you sure that Oracle has an LMTS in it's hierarchy? AFAIK it doesn't

Ic3 YOE is usually from 4-8 years. At 11 years, you can expect IC4 for sure. Just make sure your interview goes well. Don't think oci cares a lot about colleges. We have a no-bias policy in terms of a person's college, current company etc, it's your interview performance that lands you the offer. But yes being an IITian/working at FAANG might give you a competitive edge but it's not the deciding factor of getting hired at IC4.
Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.
Hi Oracle, What can I expect for IC4 (16+ YOE) at OCI Bangalore?
