Hello Blind, Recently I was laid off from google and currently I have two offers from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and flexport. Please suggest a company based on career growth, reputation and visa help. I am currently on h1b with no i140 ( It was under the process but google withdrew it after laying off). Level at Google - L4 - Bay-area Total comp 330k Offer details Oracle OCI: Place - Austin (Said I can work from anywhere but salary would remain same) Job level - IC3 TC - 200 Base - 140 Stocks - 45k one time joining bonus - 15k Flexport: Place - Bellevue Job level - SWE - II TC - 312 Base - 180 Target bonus - 18 stocks - 108k (No IPO yet) relocation - 6k Please help me choose one and are there any hidden advantages/ disadvantages in Oracle and in Flexport? And is filing perm done after performance review in flexport? Also please consider the chance of future layoffs. #engineering #swe #software #perm #h1b
FlexPort for sure. Pay difference is huge
Flexport stock is worth nothing until they go public
General opinion is that Flexport is Amazon 2.0
Because it is… current swe2 here
How was the OCI interview in terms of LC difficulty?
I would say Medium.
Oracle seems more stable
How did u get 2 offers in this market
Just kept Applying and interviewing. And may be Google tag helped me in getting interviews. And also I was L4 in google for almost 3 years.
Is l4 like a senior at other places
How was your interview? What type of questions were asked?
Holy shit, OCI lowballed you. I am IC2 and my TC is 200k without bonus.
yeah IKR, recruiter said they are lowballing because of the current market situation. what is your job location?
Remote
How long did they take to reach back after flexport onsite?
That's a good offer for IC3 at OCI RN. I'd go there because the stocks at flexport are Essentially worthless, and given current economy, oracle is more stable.
How is this a good ic3 offer lmao? Lowball af
Am OCI offer today is not an OCI offer from last year. They stingy with their money RN
Whichever team works on things that seem more important for the business. Also whichever manager is nicer (or appears nicer).
