Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Oracle: Senior software engineer ( ic3) Base : 150k Stocks: 60k Sign on : 10k Tc: 220k Loc: SEATTLE Walmart: Senior software engineer Base: 170k Stocks: 15k Perf bonus: 25k Sign on : 20k Tc: 230k Loc: NEW YORK CITY Yoe 5 Tc 0 Looking for stability and quality of work. Heard Walmart is recession proof and doesn’t do a lot of layoffs whereas Oracle frequently does.
Are you sure about Walmart RSU? It should be 45K, vesting quarterly over 3 years, hence 15K first year.
Yes. I just put the first year tc
Shouldn’t it be 50k over 3 years?
Oracle stocks look low for an IC3. I got like 400k over 4 years back in 2019. I think there's room to negotiate here. IC3 can go up to 280-300k
Not these days
Both of them are okay companies, so my choice would be Walmart for the chance to live in NYC over Seattle. Like with anyone else, I would encourage you to try and focus on which team/org you’re joining to better serve your career. Good luck! TC: 105K
How is Walmart base so high??? Do you have a masters or something
Yes I have masters.
Layoffs in walmart tech are less frequent than oracle but this is OCI. Dont know about layoff cadence there.
You won't get much raise in base in both places. I would prefer higher stock value. Oracle stock has more potential to grow in near term. Btw, your TC should include ( sign on/4) not the sign on.
Is sign on also split over 4 years?? Then it’s almost peanuts
No, it's part of the first paycheck. But, for TC calculations, sign on/4 is used.
OP did you negotiate with Oracle?
Yes, but they are not budging
By the way, which team at Oracle? I might hear some offer soon for IC3.
Did you try to negotiate with Oracle?
Walmart is higher base and overall TC. Not to mention it’ll be good to get retail on ur resume for the chance to work at ALBERTSONS 🥴
Not sure about the retail experience. But a difference of 10k justifies the nyc vs seattle cost of living?
Not really but I’d rather live in nyc than Seattle regardless. Plus after the cliff then your base should still be high
