OCI YOE: 8 Current tc: 183k Oracle tc initial offer: 140 base 45k stock 12.5k sign on First year: 197 Location: Remote, medium to lowish col area (nowhere near bay prices) Thinking of countering at 152k and 50k stock. They said interview feedback was good. Thoughts?
Moving without a meaningful increase in TC is not worth it unless you are in an emergency situation to leave ( i.e pip, conflict with manager, etc)
I agree in general. Other things not listed are more vacation time and also full remote v hybrid. It's a tough decision.
Full remote vs hybrid is a very important detail you left out of your original post. In that case it’s worth it. I feel like Oracle has a slightly better reputation than IBM as well…
Both current and OCI offer are remote? TC is pretty much the same bro. Not sure it’s worth the move unless you gain something substantial (more money, remote possibility, very interesting project, growth opportunities, etcetc)
Main things are full remote and more vacation compared to IBM. Agree on money, it's not meaningful/same even if they agree to a counter. Work is interesting in both positions.
Remote is definitely a plus and also Oracle is not backtracking and calling people back for RTO except few orgs and even then it’s easy to get exception. Vacation policy is unlimited but it depends on the team’s workload and also your own time management.
That’s so low for IC3!
that's the TC offered these days. i joined 3 years ago and major TC increases are stock appreciation. but yes the high tc time is almost gone
OP is in the MCOL or LCOL location. I would say it may be a bit low for IC3 in OCI, but not much. Definitely worth negotiation.
which team/org at OCI? also which IBM product? since TC is almost equivalent, learning or product should be the main voting factor.. since IBM as a company is getting old
Low offer
How low?
Target for $250k TC
IBM still around? Go with OCI at least they are trying
what's up Reddit? IBM is doing good! looks like you got rejected by IBM😁
Ehh Ujc bro only in ur wet dreams someone from Reddit will apply to retirement house like IBM
Stock too less
