Hello all, I received an offer from Western Digital for Sr. Manager position. I am offered annual bonus which is 35% of my base salary, dependent on company performance. I want to know, how much bonus was paid out to the employee in last 3-4 years. Was it paid out 100% of the target? I am guessing the actual payout was less than the target. How much was actually paid out (% delta from your target bonus?) This will be one of the key factors to decide whether I would accept the job or not. Recruiter is not willing to say historic bonus payout %. Current TC: 750k #westerndigital #hardware #semiconductor
Because bonus was 0% last year
You sure it's a senior manager position? Bonus numbers mentioned are for Director level. Anyway as mentioned above, past year and a half has been 0 bonus.
The title is still in negotiation. How much was bonus for 2022 and 2021? Was it paid 100% of the target?
Looks more like snr director or equivalent (can't remember the term used these days) role after consulting others. After checking, here's the payout company wide or what was declared, bonus is done twice a year once in Feb and then in August. Average them and you'll get the bonus declaration for the year. Anyway at that level bonus is the lesser concern, RSU will be the bigger prize but I don't have exact details on that. 2020, 133% and 70% 2021, 112% and 140% 2022, 100% and 83% Does feel like it's been a while since we had a bonus. Edit, just saw your other questions. 110 is director for managerial or senior technologist for IC 111 is snr director or whatever they call it these days for IC 55% sounds about right for RSU. Yes, these are paid way more often even when there's no bonus declared especially for the high levels. Take for example, 2023 had no bonus but they still gave oute our RSU. You can get into the politics of it but RSU is very very subjective with a lot of power given to Department Heads to allocate. You might get less or more vs entitlement depending on politics.
Since when did WD start paying that much?
High for 110 and normal for 111.
Dang, I am not at WD anymore but I was so underpaid. What's the base offered OP? Good offer
What's the base OP? If it's significantly higher than your current base then you should take it or else move on. They can take your bonus /RSUs whenever they want. Also flash is pretty management heavy.
The base is definitely more at WD. But I get paid well in RSUs and bonus at my current company, trying to figure out that will be the case with WD too. WD verbal offer told me 55% of base as yearly RSU refreshers. Are the annual RSU refreshers fixed? Or are they dependent on performance etc?
I think the promised RSUs will be given - defined in the offer letter. After the 4 year cliff, it depends
With micron stock rising, you need to reconsider.
Op , you might wanna stay at Micron given its stock appreciation
Ha! If you’re not in Sales, there’s been zero payout for 2 years and no salary adjustments. They’re trying to resume, but based on this years budget, it definitely won’t cover targets
Wow this is high for WDC.
What is your YoE? Is the offer IC to manger?
