Recruiter messaged me about an engineering manager role as a people leader. What could I expect from the interview process? Is 5 YOE too low for this role? Yoe:5 Tc:165k #tech #oscartech #oscarhealth #healthtech #healthcare #manager #interview
I interviewed for SWE there, was not memorable at all. I can't remember anything about it. Nothing stood out other than the funky name.
True
PM interview pre-pandemic. The onsite was a series of behavioral interviews. Not FAANGy at all. Check Glassdoor for questions/impressions if you haven’t.
it’s a literal dumpster fire at Oscar right now though so would be cautious of joining
How so?
it’s just a mess, stock is low, understaffing so overworking, unorganized constant restructuring, minimal to no successful cross functional work. everyone is jumping ship (including myself) & probably only going to be more because a portion of those of us who stuck around were given retention bonuses in feb that expire next month. it’s chaotic which breeds opportunity to make career moves if you’re willing to fight through it but it’s nothing if not messy
😂 5 yoe for EM? No…
based on the above comments, y’all might need the help 😂😂
We don’t need amateur EM. Trust me, you can land a TLM internally. Not EM for 5. EM here are hands on and also take large responsibility. Insurance products are very complex.
IC role?
People leader track
if you have people manager experience then why not unless they expect more experience.
