Anyone at Oscar or aware of the co. willing to share input? Finished onsites for PM role on one of the Growth teams. Looking for input on: - general co./PM org overview esp. if stock will appreciate - what’s working as a PM REALLY like there? - compensation ranges Oscar aims to pay Happy to chat over DM if you’d like. Thanks! #oscar #oscarhealth #pm #product #productmanager
Pay is great for PM. I'm not a PM tho...I hear things... Stock side I wish someone could tell me the future. Working style depends on your team.
V helpful thanks for sharing. You’re a SWE? How has your exp been?
Well… CEO was a SWE before. This company is 100% tech driven. They invested crazy money into this legacy industry and still doing so after IPO. On BD side, market saying we have the best tech for sure. Now it’s just waiting for the closing of deals. Of course, you never know before you sign anything with a client.
Joined in the last year and I definitely am enjoying the role. it’s very outcome/goal oriented which is what I was looking for personally. I cant speak to comp ranges or stock growth. Levels.fyi should give you a few data points. From what I hear you can’t negotiate without a competing offer but you never know. Did you receive an offer?
I thought I would but guess I didn’t (was expecting to hear back yesterday). Thanks for your input though & best wishes at Oscar :)
Until you hear back you never know! Happy to chat further if you do get an offer.
Depends entirely on your team. Some tech PMs are all over the place and try to supplement by handing responsibilities down to junior employees, which typically hasn’t worked well. Generally Oscar is a nice place to work with great colleagues. I get they’re trying to retain that startup feel, but after the IPO it feels that we should be more mature for what we want to achieve. Some teams are seeing a lot of turnover right now, but I think this is more on the tech side of things. In terms of the stock, who knows. Company wants to make big changes in healthcare and disrupt the industry, but it’s a longgggg road considering Oscars membership #s. I would think it’ll be a few years before the impact and stock is where it should be.
