Hello, I am a computer science graduate student currently attending a top 15 university, and I'm on track to graduate in December 2023. Unfortunately, I've been facing some challenges in the job market as I haven't been receiving callbacks for new graduate positions. I wanted to inquire if there are any opportunities within your team for recent graduates, and if so, would you consider referring me? I've had some success in my job search, as I've received callbacks from a few startups and secured internships for the summer and fall. However, I've been unable to secure callbacks from FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) or Fortune 100 companies. Despite having a strong profile on platforms like LeetCode and Codeforces, and successfully passing coding tests, I application is not moving forward. I would also greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice on how to improve my chances of receiving callbacks. I'm actively engaged on LinkedIn, reaching out to recruiters, and applying to positions as soon as I come across them. However, my response rate has been relatively low. Thank you and any guidance you can provide would be immensely helpful. PS: My last CodeSignal score was 844 and solved around 650 LeetCode questions. #referral #newgrad #FAANG #jobopenings
It took me 7 months after I graduated to find my first actual job. In the meantime, I did contract work, part time work, took gigs in my industry through recruitment agencies. It’s a numbers game, keep applying, find specific roles that match your skillset and post a request for a referral on Blind. Keep at it, you will find the right fit soon and be open minded. Once you have your foot in the door, other doors will open. Good luck
