Hi, I have an interview with trade desk for a screening round I could not find any information about the type of questions that I can expect and prepare for. Recruiter notes says: Areas to brush up on: • Fundamental data structures and algorithms • Class Design • Multithreading, thread safety • Decoupling • Debugging Do they really ask multi-threading? #ttd #thetradedesk
Have you completed your full loop? Do you mind sharing your experience?
The Trade Desk is NOT HFT, it’s ad tech. And yes, we do ask multithreading in the screening but we’re not expecting you to write perfectly running multithreaded code - it’s more concepts than anything else really. That list is quite appropriate for the usual screening problem.
So I am fairly good with leetcode and recently brushed up. Problem is I have no hands experience writing multi-threaded code in java using futures/semaphores etc. should i take out a month to prepare those scary thread and lock for read writer problems?
Depends on your interviewer tbh - I’d be happy with explaining what choice of lock is appropriate for the scenario and why
