Hi, I'm getting a offer of SMTS at ThoughtSpot. Wanted to understand about following few things 1) Work life balance 2) Layoff & Pip Culture 3) Does any team works remotely as well? 4) Esops worth? IPO eta? Current TC: 60LPA Experience: 7yrs #thoughtspot
What's the TC they offered?
3.3 doesn't sound that good of a rating.
Wlb is team dependent. Some work like crazy week after week after week and some teams come to office to have lunch and go home. Layoffs happened in past in engineering. Pip culture exists, don't know what %. I don't know any team fully working remotely. Expected to go to office 3 days per week. Esops right now worth 6-8$. No ipo in near future. How much are they offering btw?
Stay away 🙈 unless no option
Run away and don’t turn back
Yes , don’t join at all . My friend is working there and just looking for market to turn good for hiring and run away. It is all negative . No WLB for most of the teams. Almost all ops work. Management sucks. They don’t know what they are doing it seems. So use it only as stop gap option if you are not getting anything else.
+1
I didn’t expect it from someone who’s has worked at Amazon, they say Amazon work culture is shittier, Thoughtspot seems shittiest
Stock value is down by 70% is what it was during the last round of funding. Run.
Agreed 👆🏻
WLB getting worst day by day
Yes - horrible and I want to run away ASAP - but not finding much opportunities right now. Just waiting for right time ! The worst time in my career here . It sucks to the Core. Most stupid people are at higher level (VPs / Directors ). I don’t understand promo of some people to VP without any measurable deliverables. It’s all ops work and hardly any dev work. Summary : don’t join TS , it is the worst possible decision you can make !
It’s a classic case of a dysfunctional org here. It’s sad to see them suffering from a sever case of inept leadership and mind numbing office politics. It’s stupid people politics - enough to make you want to pull your hair out. It’s time to start handing out report cards to these so-called leaders to get this org back on track. Very few ppl in this org have domain expertise. Let’s be real, if you are not learning, you are not growing. The chances of picking up valuable insights from seniors are about as likely as finding a unicorn in your backyard.
Moving from google to thoughtspot?
Impacted by layoff
