If you know how to do your job well and can communicate clearly you’ll be fine. The wild card is if you get re-org’d to a manager that didn’t hire or seek you. Managers can fire people more easily here

Do those two things really relate? I thought we got passed this as an industry when we stopped asking about GPAs. A lot of people who sucked in school/college are solid engs (and maybe managers too).
