Currently L6 at Amazon. I understand that tech salaries across FAANG at this level can range from $250-400k. With new pay bands, I expect to make ~$300k by next year or ~$350k if I jump to Google or Meta. What would be the TC for PMs at this level in pre-IPO mid sized tech companies? I am thinking Webflow or Drift. Or recently IPO mid-sized companies like Asana or Amplitude. TC: 240k YOE: total 8, 2 in Amazon Talking about PMT roles
Yoe? Are you PMT with a tech background? The range can vary widely based on industry the company is in. I’d say the range goes from 220-300k
Overall 8 YOE, 4 as PM. Have tech background.
Having a tech background and actually being in a tech role are 2 different things. Many pms at amazon won’t pass the tech bar at Google or Facebook since you need same tech judgement as a swe for pm
I am a senior pm with 5 yoe in product at a tech startup and i bring in ~210k in base/bonus. I have shares as well but that is all paper money for the time being.
Thanks, can you share which startup you work for?
250-450k including equity. Maybe more if they have fewer levels. Depends a lot on the company.
This aligns with what I've seen. Top end goes a little higher.

What does banana mean
Banana for scale
There is another post on Blind recently that PMs are being lowballed after COVID
Can you please link the post here? I can't find it
Why would there be lowballing post COVID? Because of larger workforce willing to work remotely? More bodies available for hire?
Are we talking about program or product managers?
PM is always Product Manager. PgM is program manager.
It’s peanuts. Base 200, equity depends, 10% bonus
This is what I’ve been seeing
Imagine thinking $200k is peanuts. Man this place is so detached from reality.
How many years of experience is L6 in Amazon?
There is basically no L5 PM-Tech so people are usually L6 coming into the role but need 2-5 years in some software role like tech program manager or software dev.
There are lot of L5 PMTs in Amazon actually
YOE?
400-500k
wow, that sounds like a lot! Mind sharing the name of the companies that pay so much?
