How to invest in India as an NRI?
All my life I have been in the tech space in FANG or startups. Now this recruiter from Optiver has reached out and says that comp is top of the market. Can someone who has worked there share how is optiver for engineers? What sort of interviews (L7) they conduct? How is the culture over there? #optiver #finance
I really really really want to work at Optiver but I am entry level and don't have a CS degree and I didn't go to a top school with a good GPA. I have amzn on my resume though and I have really studied system design and networks. If you end up working at optiver please hmu with a referral.
Why do you want to work at Optiver?
A lot of my friends have worked there and i heard good things about the culture which is uncommon for these companies. Interested in the work a lot. TC is obviously there
Optiver pays way above top of market but you perform or perish. Forget about WLB while you come upto speed and forget about coasting
L7 😂
That’s like Jane Street.
Intense during the day but wlb is honestly very good. TC growth is great as well and you will have a lot of impact. Give it a try. You will learn a lot about the company during interviews. Feel free to dm
Hey, I'm an incoming new grad, do you mind if I dm?
Go ahead:)
Could you dm me?
It’s a solid place, they pretty much ignored all my team placement preferences and put me on a team I had no interest in. I left, but comp wise it’s way above tech. Ask about their marble system and how much you would be receiving going in.
Marble system?
Optiver > Meta. That is all the information you need.
Thanks for sharing. Meta is not the benchmark! Genuinely curious as to what makes Optiver better now
Meh, it depends. At L7 the difference probably diminishes. Not to mention you won't be compensated as you might imagine initially since you are unproven. BTW, if nothing has changed recently, Optiver will most certainly not give you a top of market first year offer compared to a place like CitSec, HRT, Jump, or JS, but itll probably be "top of market" for tech. I'd shop around more and leverage your upcoming interview to get callbacks at other places first.
