Personally, I think I'd go Microsoft -> Amazon -> Apple -> Facebook -> Netflix -> Google. - Prioritize companies that are the cheapest and/or have high turnover first, try to get a quick promotion. - Definitely Facebook earlier on, but not before reaching terminal level (E5) - Netflix has to come later, once career progression isn't as big of a deal - Ultimately rest & vest at Google.
You’re already at G
Amazon or Microsoft -> Facebook -> google -> Netflix Not interested in apple since they are basically a hardware company with not the best transferable skill set
Is Netflix really a better rest-and-vest destination than Google nowadays? What happened?
Consider removal of M. For example, Google -> Facebook -> Netflix -> Stripe Theory is by the time you get to Netflix, money is not an issue any more.
Green Burrito -> Arby’s -> McDonald’s -> Noah’s Bagels -> Five Guys -> Albertsons
Skip Microsoft
Just FB -> G. FB is far better for rapid learning and career growth compared to Amazon or Apple (and pays a lot more too). G is great for taking it slow and retiring. Or perhaps FB -> startup -> G. Spend a few years yoloing at a startup before retiring at G. If it works out, a few extra million in your retirement. If it doesn’t, nbd, won’t have to live with the regret of never trying to go big.
This! Exactly my plan. I had new grad offers from FB, Google, and a couple pre-IPOs (Databricks and Robinhood). Had I picked the pre-IPOs I would have been a bit wealthier. But tbh FBs learning and growth give me the opportunity to go to a pre-IPO at a higher level and get a significantly bigger payout. I plan to retire at Google once I hit my financial goals.
Lmao. More mind numbing content.
You know it 🍿
