Interviewed on Friday . After last round of interview got feedback that everyone liked me( no feedback from last interviewer yet). recruiter told me base pay and hopefully staff position. I told her that I need exact numbers to say anything. Monday got an email but not able to talk to recruiter . Today tuesday noon she shared exact numbers(225k including bonus and RSU) and senior software position and I told her give me a day to think. Today, I told that my current total package is higher than what you are offering (225k)and I am looking for staff position . she told me RSU are fixed and position is based on wht interviewers think and what else I want. I asked her that can we connect tommrow ? she replied rudly that I already took so much time and should not ask for more.(total time I took literealy one day). I asked match my current package and she replied will 10 k sign on bonus and 5k make me happy. I replied that I am not going to join on less. she replied rudely that she will tell recuitering manager that I am not willing to move out and do not want to work for AppD. In all of my past expereinces, her behaviour was worst . Only thing I think I did wrong is I didn't disclose her my RSUs and their vesting time even though she asked 2 3 times. I told total RSUs on my intweview day. Thoughts ?
With the Cisco acquisition though the RSUs are liquid so it's not horrible
That is horrible. PM me her name. Which team are you interviewing with?
I don't want to disclose her name. I interviewed for metadata service
@zxdeef - asshole for evening asking. Bitchass.
Email the hiring manager. That's a disgrace, f them. Pm me if you're interested in Uber I can hook it up.
thanks will let u know
Why do you want to move if comp is more or less the same? Not liking current team?
Maybe it was your poor spelling
Transparency goes a long way. Recruiters are here to help you and give you what you deserve. When they ask about your salary or RSUs, it's not to low ball you, its to be competitive. The recruiter was fighting for you and doing her job, but it sounds like you weren't giving her much to work with which is probably frustrating.
Dear fellow appd employee (and I hope you're a recruiter), I do think that a day or two to make a decision is quite uncool. It's a tactic to force people to make a very significant life decision in no time. I don't know what we derive out of this, but I think it makes us look bad and leads to possibly sub optimal decision making. Ideally, folks should be given the standard time to think about their choices and make a call with conviction than under pressure

Am I racist if I donโt want to marry a Southeast Asian?
Their loss. Recruiting is a tough gig: you start in a 1-year contract and are the first to go in a recession. She had the right attitude: comp and level based on performance. You messed up by sharing current comp / level (it's like housing: in a seller's market don't disclose expectations, let them bid).
I just disclose my base not total comp and my current level is on LinkedIn so no way to hide
Can you share her initials?
