Currently at Amazon and constantly running into the issue of being at 0 or negative pto hours. What can I do about this? Move companies and try to negotiate more pto? Take unpaid leave? How realistic are these options
Just stop filing when you take PTO. No one cares..
Tried this once and my manager immediately called me out about it. I didn’t do it right away and he bumped the issue a few days later.
Find a better manager.
Everyone gets the same PTO, why are you running out of it? If you are using it, that doesn’t mean you are running out of it
Thank you for the semantics lesson.
Meta isn’t wrong
This means that you are winning
Save the unpaid leave for your Pivot, which is certainly around the corner.
That’s mean of you
If you make it to 6 years at Amazon you get another week of PTO a year (that may depend on location though)
Take less pto
I hate being a slave. Pto is the only time I feel free.
Take unpaid pto to be free. If you on pto and paid, it’s not free pto by definition. Ps another semantic lesson for you, amazon
