Palantir FDE any good?

Is the Forward Deployed Engineer position at Palantir legit or a scam? How does it compare to a normal SWE job?

Are you looking for a downgrade? Seriously though, I think the interview process is definitely useful, I use it as practice especially for the behavioral part, if you can bullshit your way through their interviews, you can pass the behavioral at all the others companies. Poor guys really want to believe Palantir is your top choice πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Is it really that bad? I've got some top notch colleagues from uni doing FDE but everyone says it's shit.

Yeah, you gotta say "Palantir is my top choice", bring a couple of BS reasons. It's not like the recruiters are going to say "you lied" in the de-briefs, they have no option but to believe you. Same with Optiver. Quite remarkable really that these companies want you to believe you are their top choice lol.

You've got enough evidence online already. Additionally, you can simply see it from their interviews that they are looking for people that don't ask too many questions and are easy to manipulate and overwork.

It’s not a scam. If you’re interviewing, ask the recruiter and your FDE interviewers about the role. You wont get accurate advice here unless someone has been an FDE. Most have no experience in the role or are salty about being rejected.

Yeah. Every FDE I've met is top notch and very well rounded. Not only excellent engineers but also have excellent people skills.

Lol @ people not at palantir talking about palantir Theres a diversity of FDE experiences, generally often tough wlb/hours, but cool product and culture.

Care to elaborate? Might interview soon. How much actual backend and front end coding do you get to do? Other than configuring/deploying/orchestrating bla bla bla
